What you may choose to keep

Depending on what you use, your local records can include:

• Your profile details, birth date or recovery context, mood check-ins, symptoms, care observations, and questions.
• Journal text, photos, voice recordings, optional baby profiles, appointment details, and health documents such as PDFs or photos of records.
• Names, relationships, phone numbers or email addresses of people you save to My Village, your custom request buttons, and request drafts.

4Mom uses this information to show and organize your own records, play recordings you select, and prepare the drafts or exports you request. It does not interpret medical documents or monitor your entries for a clinician.

Device contacts are accessed through a picker you open. The app receives the contact or contact detail you select; it does not import your whole address book. Camera, microphone, photo and file access are used when you choose the corresponding feature. You can use text-only notes without recording or importing media.

Saved vaults and temporary sessions

A saved vault encrypts your personal records and attachments on this device using a key derived from your passphrase. 4Mom does not save the passphrase or provide a password-reset service. Losing the passphrase means losing access to the vault and its encrypted backups.

A temporary session keeps personal records in memory instead of saving them to your vault. Its records are discarded when the session ends. Taking photos, importing files, and recording or playing audio can still use temporary files managed by the app or operating system. The app attempts to remove its temporary copies; an interruption can leave some copies until cleanup or the operating system removes them.

Encryption protects stored data. Content is readable while your vault is unlocked, and readable exports are outside that protection. Device access, screenshots, a compromised device, or another app receiving a copy can affect privacy.

This build does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, automatic uploads of vault entries, remote AI processing, or background clinical review. No cloud synchronization is connected.

When you choose to share or make a backup

• Text and Email: My Village opens a draft in a compatible messaging or mail app. Review the person and message there before sending. The receiving app and service handle that message under their own practices.
• Copied notes and data: Doctor notes, question summaries, and the text/data export become readable text on your clipboard or wherever you paste them. You choose the entries included in doctor notes.
• PDF export: Exporting a health-record PDF creates a readable copy outside the vault. A PDF may retain information embedded in the original document. On iOS, export also creates an app-owned staging copy. 4Mom attempts to delete that staging copy when the export closes and checks for leftover copies at the next startup after an interruption. This is not a guarantee that every temporary copy is erased. The original file you imported also remains wherever you kept it.
• Encrypted backup: A .4mom backup contains your saved vault data and attachments in encrypted form. You choose its destination and need the vault passphrase to restore it. If you choose a cloud drive through your device’s file picker, that provider handles the file; this is not automatic 4Mom cloud sync.

Copies you send, paste, export or back up are not removed when you erase an entry in 4Mom. External websites linked from the app, including support resources, have their own privacy practices.

What happens when you visit the website

The 4Mom web app and these public pages are hosted on Vercel. Loading them sends requests to that hosting service. Vercel may process IP addresses, approximate location derived from IP, browser or device information, requested paths, and request times to deliver and protect the site.

Hosting traffic is separate from the contents of your local vault. 4Mom does not put private entries in those page requests. Hosting and security information may be available to Racoben Engineering through the hosting service. It may be processed outside your country and retained according to the provider’s services, settings and policies.

See Vercel’s privacy notice for its practices. These public pages contain no contact form, advertising script or analytics script. Fonts and page assets are served with the site.

Your choices, retention and deletion

You can review and change records in the app, remove individual entries, revoke camera or microphone permissions in your device settings, and erase the app’s personal data from Preferences & privacy. The clear-data action leaves the vault passphrase configuration in place. Device or browser settings can remove all app or site storage.

Saved records remain until you remove them or the underlying app/site storage is removed. Uninstalling an app, clearing browser storage, browser storage eviction, or losing a device can remove local data. Keep an encrypted backup if you want a separate copy; a backup cannot recover a forgotten passphrase.

Original photos or files you selected, exported documents, sent messages, clipboard copies and backup files have their own locations and retention. Remove those separately if you no longer want them. Your operating system, app store and chosen services may handle their own diagnostics or copies under their settings.

Please describe the issue without sending health records, private notes, recordings, passphrases or backup files. See the support page for what information is useful.

4Mom does not hold a server copy of your vault that Racoben Engineering can search, return or delete for you. You can manage the local copy through the app and device controls above. Questions about website hosting information can also be raised through this support contact.

We may update this notice as the product changes. The date at the top identifies the current version.
